Güell Colony

In an effort to move away from the social conflicts of the city, Eusebi Güell, Gaudí's friend and patron, created an industrial colony outside Barcelona to comfortably house his beloved workers from the local factory.

 

Güell then asked Gaudí to build a church for the people and with the utmost confidence told to him he was free to literally do whatever he wanted to. In spite of been unfinished, the church is a jewel of modernism.
